THE GAINWORKS AMP STORIES
Mesa Dual Rectifier Trem-O-Verb
A special amp, with a story to match.
This amp is special. Really special. To my ears, it’s the most versatile amp Mesa has ever made and the best Rectifier I’ve heard—and I’ve heard a lot of them.
My bandmate’s father custom-ordered this one in the late ’90s. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago, and my buddy Jess sent me the amp to keep in the studio. Thanks, Jess. It means a lot to have it here and to keep making music with it.
After a thorough cleaning, a few replacement parts, and a fresh set of tubes, it became probably the most-used amp in the studio for rock and metal sessions. It can move from tweedy Stones riffs to nu metal, thrash, and beyond. And the clean channel is every bit as good as the drive sounds.
