This Laney is the ultimate sleeper amp. Its clean channel has a fantastic, spanky feel that reminds me of a Fender reverb amp. Switch to the dirty channel and it heads toward a 6L6-loaded JCM800, with a little more edge and gain.
It’s been a big player on a lot of my heavy guitar tracks, and it’s a great live amp, too. It may not be the first name everyone thinks of, but it has earned its place here by delivering when it counts.
