BILCO Plexi Blonde
A Marshall with a Fender clean channel? Ask Bill.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to play a Bilco, you probably already know the deal. I’ve known Bill Nance since I was a kid, and he builds some of the coolest amps around.
Back in 2006, I asked him to build me a Marshall with a Fender clean channel. What he came up with was truly awesome: something between a blonde Bassman and a modified JMP circuit, with a JTM45 output transformer.
The cleans are fat and glassy, while the drive has a warmer, fuller British character than a traditional Marshall. Bill made it better than I could have imagined.
